Stage 4: Le Chable -> Cabane du Mont Fort -> Cabane de Louvie

Lots of adventure on this stage...we encountered fog, rain, thunderstorms (and possibly) hail.

After stopping at Cabane du Mont Fort for a cup of tea, we carried on to our destination.

Stephanie almost fell down the side of the mountain twice as there were tough snow covered traverses.

The views made the trip well worth it (as did Stephanie's new appreciation for waterproof clothes/boots).

Cabane de Louvie itself was quite charming. Perched at the edge of a lake and overlooking a valley, it is run by a man named Roland whose iPod features some great music. We were joined by only 3 other travelers: Andrea and Simone (both Swiss doctors) and Guillaume (a student from Montreal who actually did fall down the mountain - 200 meters). We had a wonderful dinner of traditional Swiss barley soup, stroganoff, and brandy poached pear, followed by a game of Pictionary all in French (we dominated the game) then had a great nights sleep.
